I do NOT recommend Excellent Tours, especially with Georgette, Morris, or Peter. Morris booked our tickets Oct 9 but refused to send us the flight details until 2 days before, causing our connecting bookings to be much more expensive. There were more convenient flights but they chose the cheapest options. The rest of the group got transportation from Dubai to SJH covered but not us. We barely had enough time between flights to make them. We did not have time to wait for a taxi and had to take a private car at 3x the rate. Our luggage did not make it. We had booked a few extra days in Dubai to visit family, but last minute our trip was moved up a few days. We were lucky that we had booked a buffer or we would have not been able to make it. When we finally arrived in Luxor, there were no accommodations ready meaning we had to wait for hours outside. Georgette kept saying she was providing complimentary services but I would rather have paid and been comfortable, which we expressed. Finally when we were told that our luggage was ready, Peter offered to book us a car and said it was $50. We took a taxi for less than $20. His excuse was that he sent us a certified car but that he should have given us options.. Georgette said that we should not have had to go to the airport at all and that our luggage should have been delivered to us, but that is wrong- international flights require customs that we had to be present for. We constantly got conflicting messages from the organizers. We visited numerous churches that were not part of our original itinerary and that no one asked for. This came at the cost of us having more time to spend at the sites that we had signed up for. We got to the pyramids at 3:15, they close at 4... despite the itinerary saying whole day. More time was allocated to rock and cotton shops that were grossly overpriced. If Georgette had stuck to the original plan it would have been better. The tour organizers said that they were democratic and would listen to what the group wanted but that was not the case. Whenever Excellent could cut costs they would and say that they were providing complimentary services. Additionally, tips were supposed to be 150 dirhams, but when it came time to collect they converted the amount to dollars and added 10% to the amount. She only reduced the amount when I argued and showed her the conversion rates. Very dishonest. Food was abysmal. At multiple locations we were served food that had gone bad. We went to a bbq restaurant and the sauce was fermented when it was not supposed to be. Multiple people got sick. For the last few days we asked for anything but the buffets they were providing us, so the group voted and we got shawarma. They bought the smallest size for us, spending about $2 a person. The next day, I went with Peter to pick up the meals and expressed that food was not enough for anyone. Instead of increasing the size of the meals for all, he bought one extra just for me and not anyone else despite my protests. Instead of calling the order in, he ordered it in person causing a 1h wait that could have been avoided. We were not given what we requested despite protests and assurances otherwise. Additionally, Georgette told us that we would have a cruise dinner with the other tour groups but she cancelled it without notifying us. Halfway through the trip when I discussed the inaccurate tip pricing, I told Georgette how frustrated all of us were and that I would be writing a review. After reviews were posted, Georgette very unprofessionally messaged me saying to stop and that our expectations were too high. I expected to follow the itinerary we paid for. She gave numerous excuses and refused to take responsibility. The ratings went from +4 stars to under 3.8. They have posted numerous 5 stars fluff reviews right after our numerous poor reviews to bring ratings back up. Very dishonest. Georgette also told me that she was firing Morris (& Peter) yet he continued to message me well after. I expected more from a group with ~30 years of experience and do NOT recommend.
